Whats a good hair gel?

CasioTech excluded, but what is a good hair gel for me?

My hair is pretty thin, very thin, I have some gel right now, but it's 5 years old and I'm running out of it. It's been in great condition, but I was wondering if there was a gel that perhaps performed better, and didn't turn my hairs into needles on my head.

It's ok when I comb it out, so my hair poofs out to look natural, but still retains the original shape.

Right now I have been using Suave Scultping Gel, but I wonder if AT has any suggestions.

dont use gel.

there are creams that offer similar hold and styling as gel but don't turn your hair into disgusting crispy bullshit. The cream goes on like you would do gel but when worked into hair leaves it still feeling like your normal hair would.

american crew makes one called 'forming cream' which is decet.

Use a pomade, it gives the 'shiny' look of gel without making it crusty and greasy.

Dry Wax works great for me. I use the Paul Mitchell. It's easy to apply but it is wax, so you might have to shampoo more than once to get it out.

This is your first post. You registered at a Tech Forum to post about hair wax? Something just doesn't make sense!

I do second dry wax, though. That's what I used before I started shaving my head.

No this is not my first post. I happened to have forgotten my password, and the email account I signed up with is no longer there. So I had to create a new account.
I also use hair glue but that stuff will do a number on your hair.

Gels are old school and for douche bags.

Use a wax for the dry hold and a pomade for the shiny look.

Since your hair is thin, you'll want to go dry though. It adds volume.

you can use a really really light coating to avoid getting the crispy mess.

back when I had enough hair for it to matter, I used panteen scrunching gel.

I'm considering just going with the forming cream from American Crew, but the dry wax sounds...interesting...what is it exactly?

American Crew pomade for me. Works great for minor to medium hold and does not make my hair stiff. I use such a small amount that I can still run my fingers through my hair and it's flexible and won't get stuff on my hands.

I used to use Redkin water wax but for some reason I like the pomade better. Either way I don't use anything during the summer, #1 buzz for the win!

I've tried many of the years and ended up sticking with American Crew. Their light hold gel smells good, works great... none of that sticky, greasy feeling.
