What's a good heatsink/fan?

I'm getting an athlon xp 1700. Wanted to know what's a decent fan to put on there. A friend of mine is putting it together and he doesn't want to mess around with alphas cause he said it's tough to get on.

Like Vespasian said, go with a Coolermaster if you want basic cooling w/ no plans to OC. They are value priced with excellent performance. Also look at various models. Some of them are more quiet than others.

Thermalright AX-7 w/ 80mm Panaflo fan if it will fit on your mobo, or go with the SK6 w/ 80mm fan. I recommend you stay away from those loud 36+db fans.

I would go with the Alpha Pal 8045 with some Artic Silver 3 compound. I don't understand the hard to get on statement, sucker is easy to get on and off

Epox 8KHA+, less than $30, as quiet as my money can get (I have a global win now so i'm kinda used to the noise).

Since you have the EPoX 8KHA+ I can see what your friend means. The Alpha 8045 is not a perfect fit and requires some creative mods to the heatsink

John suggestion of the Thermalright AX7 sounds pretty good right now. If you want to go a little cheaper the previous SK-6 is also damn nice.
