Whats a Good HSF?

ive heard alot about alpha but never seen the specs so im wondering if any of those are good.

and Thermaltake is well known and easy to find so what hsf is really good at cooling?

i can only think of this one Thermaltake Volcano 7 casue of the specs on the site but i dont know anything else about it.

Any suggestions?

HardOcp has a good run down on HSF. I like the Alpha PAL 8045 and the Thermalright sk6.

do you need to have holes in your mobo? and why does it even screw in?

It screws in to hold the big mofo on. I won one of these in a drawing. Im awaiting a new case that I can put it in (PSU gets in the way in my current case) Has to be one of the best made HSF outta the box that I have seen. And I like the fact that you dont have to use one of those 7000k rpm screamers to get good cooling out of it.

is it hard or dangerous to screw the alpaha on? sounds to daring for me

Cant say firsthand, but I have seen reviews and it seems they have it worked out just right. It uses springs for the tension, so you are not just screwing it on straight but against pressure. Did I lose ya? I think I lost myself in that.
