What's a good RAM for P4P800 Deluxe board w/ a P4 2.6c or 2.4c?

Alrite guys I need your help.. I havn't looked into these things for a lonnng time so I'm kinda lost..

I'm planning to build a new system and was thinking about getting the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe board and a P4 2.6c or 2.4c..
These aren't outdated are they? in terms of technology? Any other suggestions on what to get?

Also, what are some good RAMs I can get for this combo? I'm thinking at least 512mb..
Now it says "4x DIMM support Dual Channel DDR400/333/266 Max 4GB" under the mobo specs.. Does that mean I HAVE to get Dual Channel rams? (what's Dual Channel?)

There are no dual channel sticks, not in DDR any way

If you want to run dual channel you?ll need 2 identical memory sticks
So if you want 512mb RAM in dual channel you?ll need 2x256mb sticks and so on
It?s recommended to have a dual channel setup for P4 system

As for what type memory to buy :
Are you going to OC? if yes than how far you are planning to push it ??.

To run dual channel, your sticks do not have to be identical. It helps though, because not all sticks may work in dual channel mode together and using identical sticks may help with compatibility. But by no means does it require identical sticks.

Thanks for the inputs guys.. No I'm not planning to OC.. I think the speed'll be good enough for now.
So what kind of RAM should I get? I hear Corsair a lot... I suppose that's a good brand?

My friend has Kingston ValueRAM on his P4P800-DX in dual channel running no prob.

Corsair and Crucial are good too.

GEil pc4000, affordable, allows u to run high 1:1 fsb: mem, and runs cas 2.5

Alrite guys.. so I've been lookin at the Corsair XMS rams on newegg..

Is it a good idea to get this? Is it worth it to spend a few more bucks for the "Low Latency" version? Because there's also this one.

If I do get these now.. Would it be OK to add another matched pair of Corsair 512mb or 1gb rams if I decide to later?

I really wanna get the matched 1gb but $255 is too much for me right now! =\
