Hi, i got the santa cruz turtle beach sound card from way back. I am curious as I am getting a new mobo asus kv8 se deluxe with integrated sound. I wonder what is a better option, using the onboard sound or using the santa cruz sound card? thanks.
odeen. I am a little bit confused as to what port you are talking about. I have searched Santa Cruz's site and they said that it does not have internal connector. Are you talking about OEM card? Mine is retail version. Could you be a little bit more specific? Thanks a lot.
you sure is curious. I got a cyber acoustics 5.1 speaker, not sure the model number, 'cause I am too lazy to climb behind my desk to find it. it's 5000 or 4000 or something.
It;s not the best one I know, but it got the job done Iguess.
well, Odeen, I checked my card. It does have the pins that you have mentioned. However, the pins are awfully short, when I put the individual cable on it, it will not hold. Any idea what should I do?
You'd have to get another connector to mate with the white connector on your sound card. Check out digikey.com - they have a huge PDF catalog and there should be the right terminal housing to mate with the connector.
Take the pins out of the individual black terminal housings they're in, insert them into the connector you buy from digikey and you're good to go.
thanks for the reply. That sounds like a huge task, having to unhook all teh pins on my case to the new connector. Is there an easier way? Like buying an adapter or something?
