<< ...I had a hard time running dos programs in winme stuff that did work on Win98SE... >>

hehe...wait till wistler comes out... Interesting stuff in this thread...in my experiences with computers, I have found that of the 100% of the problems I have had, 98% of them were my conjuring while only 2% were hardware or software even though sometimes I would swear its not me! (...no pun intended ) hehe

I'm tellin' ya, I have an MS natuaral pro and an MS optical mouse without issues for 6months or more with my WinME....no probs here. Considering all the WinME boxes out there in the world with MS I/O devices it is surprising that this would be a rampant issue. Honestly, no probs here. My buddy dug runs a winme box with ms I/O's without event as well...I never saw the PCWorld article...

well i am running WInme too in my system. I like WINME because it is easier to config a ICS in windows.Better Network .But runnning winme seems like eating my processor more then win98se.Am i too sensitive? But overrall i still like winme. More feature i guess.

ME runs pretty good once you disable all the crap that runs in the background, such as the maintenance wizard, system restore, etc. Also, if you have the hard drive space available, it's good to set up a fixed swap file size, then defrag afterwards. ME is worse than 98 as far as constantly screwing with the swap file size. I finally got my box to run ME somewhat decent. XP--WHERE ARE YOU???

I have ME in my BX box and I never have any problem, but I having big problem with ME in my K6-2 box, it just don't like the MVP3 chipset.
What I like is
1) Much faster boot time.
2) system recovery(whenever I fv.k up my setting, it help)

Otherwise, I have no compliant on WinMe

My machine runs fine under either Win98SE or WinME. Both OSes work like charms but I like Win98SE, simply it's more familiar (win MS-DOS and stuffs) and crashes less often compared to WinME.

I agree with the mouse issue i was at my fathers house and i installed win me on his system and i tried turning the speed of the mouse up ..Then it just started bounceing all around the screen i felt like i was a cat chaseing a mouse!!Plus your right about the resources i have my resources all above 95%% Win me the same until you open a program or two then your at 60%% win 98 i'll have like 4-5 open at still be in the low 80%% win me my mp3 skipped all the time very agervateing blue death always when booting down until i did a windows update , good thing i had cabal there was alot of them . Besides that it boots up really fast. Faster than the redhat linux program that i have partitioned on my drive!!That programm does'nt seem to crash and if it does you just log out and back in 10 seconds thats it well i guess i have'nt really got the chance to mess around with it untill i break it anyway, maybe that will be my mission today crash linux then fix it!!
