What's chump change to you?

I'm getting careless with money. Nowadays, I see a dollar as 'disposable.' When I was in college, I think my threshold was a quarter.

Probably a function of inflation, income, and age.

I hear you, I remember when I was a kid and deposited three loonies at the bank. Now a days I toss $20's aside like they're kleenex.

Heck, 20 doesn't get you much of anything anymore.

 

if i see money on the street/sidewalk...i won't pick it up unless its at least a dollar (assuming its in my path)
i may pick up a quarter if its directly in my walking path...i won't take additional steps though

It depends what you mean by disposable. Depending on how broke I am, I'll spend $10-20 without really thinking about it. But I never really consider any money truly disposable (meaning I can just get rid of it without some kind of return).

I've gpt a big empty water dispenser bottle in my bedroom. I put all my chump change in it. It's about half full. There's lots of change, dollar bills and five dollar bills in there. I'm not counting it til it's full, but I think it's already got about a grand in it.

I try to spend less than $1 on all meals I eat by myself. Usually I eat macarroni and cheese or spahgetti.
