What's college like?

Senior year is starting to suck....so much work still and there's not much to look forward to except the weekends and holdays. What's there to look forward to in college? =X
Oh yeah...did you guys have senioritis? and if so...beginning when? ;P

College sucks.. my parents asked me, what's the best thing about college besides living on my own.. and I thought, and thought, and my answer was, "uh, nothing"

Senioritis.. had that since junior year of HS.. but then, I was in IB, and did 8-10 hrs hw/night, every night, all week, all month, all year, all 4 yrs... wow, high school sucked too.. there was no "senior year of underwater basketweaving" for me

Oh yeah, and the worst thing about college is that grades are based SOLELY on tests, for the most part.. 2-3 tests per semester.. fail one and you're screwed

senioritis.. oooh.. i had that real bad.

college is cool.. i was really sheltered in highshcool so when i came to college and had that first year of freedom, i really broke out of my shell.. went out every night, partied, met sooo many freinds, met so many girls, had sooo much. to much fun actually, i went from a staright A student in highshcool to finishing my first year with 1.6 gpa on acedemic probation.

basically college is whatever you make of it. Since my first year i've managed to work things out, i'm doing good in class and still having fun. classes are pretty easy, but you have to make an effort to go and do the work, becuase most teachers dont take attendence or assign homework, so its very easy to fall behind.

you'll meet so many people and make so many new friends and be exposed to so much new stuff.. Its really hard to explain what college is like.. it can be really good, really bad.. i have some friends who drink so much they wont even remember college... So i'm not really sure what more i can say.

Dorms suck. College foods are okay but after awhile are too boring. Oh yeah, and the campus stores love to screw you over with their overpriced food and books. Idiots.

As someone mentioned in an earlier post, college is what you make of it. If you want to have fun, you'll have fun. If you want to study, you'll study.

8 hours of HW a night?!? WTH is wrong with you...nobody should have to do that much. Even AP classes at my school, they say should avg around 1 hour a night (of course nobody does that much work)....5 solids is a lot, esp. if they are all APs..so max 5 hours..

I never went to high school but all my college freshmen friends (none of whom are partiers) are enjoying college a lot more than hs.

College can be one of two things...

1- Parties, alchohol and lots of sex

or

2- Going into the computer lab and coming to ATOT and bragging about your l33t T3 connection

*shrug* that's just how much we had plus I work pretty fast. I just did all hw assigned to us, turned in or not.

Oh, and IB was a lot more work than AP, I did both

We just had very demanding teachers and I'm thankful for it

well, college is 10000000% better than high school.
Had senioritis i remember the moment i was accepted at Univ of Florida, and thought, hell, why do all this bullsh*t when i already got in college....
but college man, is the best. Yeah, you need to get your act straight as soon as you get there, cause definetely classes are alot more work and difficult than college, but during college, look forward to road trips with friends, lots of single girls, being on your own, meeting lots of people..well, i don' tknow if you're the social type but even if you're shy and you meet the right people, college is the best experience man. Oh lots of free food, and lots of girls!!!
I know my first year i wasn't the most social being so perhaps it wasn't my best year, but then i met some really good people and i had a lot of fun, and developed my social skills a lot... and enjoy the easy life of high school while you can, but trust me, it will never ever come close to the college experience! Just be ready to study and have fun. They can both be done!

not in college yet but hell ive had senioritis since second semester freshmen year....
and this year i was stupid enough to take 5 ap class and 1 honors ......

i still kinda have it but i worked my @$$ off for some things like Ap Physics C (THE WORK OF SATAN!!!)

10 problems out of hte book for homework took me and 4-8 other people(working together) usually 3-5 hours

and tests were worse......here is something that should take you 75-80 minutes
and you have 50 minutes.....

I had senioritis all 4 years of highschool. (average was like 10 minutes of homework a night. That meant an hour a week or something.) I was in AP and honoro classes too. I got to colelge this year and I started studying like a total of half an hour a night. I'm pulling like a 2.9. I'm gonna start studying more.

I didn't like highschool much and I'm having a great time in college. The only bad thing is financially, I'm on my own. I'm paying for everything myself and stuff is expensive. Considering all the things that are happening, I'm goign broke.

1: someone shot a bb at my car window
2: sick and medicine costs a bunch of money
3: from southern california and I don't have the clothes to deal with northern california weather
4: I need to buy lots of new stuff so that I can live on my own. fridge, microwave, bike, car insurance, parking permit, books, tuition, food, and gas

I'm in the same freakin boat, I did fine in HS but college sucks ass. I never study. For example, right now, I should be studying for one of the two midterms that I'm going to fail.. err.. take tomorrow, but am I? NO!! I'm on friggin ATOT again!

College can be fun....as long as you remember to balance work and play. Too much of either causes trouble.

I was too much of a dork and didn't make many friends the first year. That really sucked for me.

And try to get involved in some extra curricular stuff. That's how you "make friends and influence people" in college.

College is fantastic. High school was, ugh, so freakin' oppressive. You sink or swim by you own accord. There's no one looking over your shoulder or nagging you (thank god). Like others have said, balance work and play and your college years can be some of the best of your life.
