I read Fury over the last summer I believe, and thought it was great. I also read a bunch of Haruki Murakami novels too..Murakami writes some very strange novels/short stories.
I myself an winding down from a recent apocalyptic type theme. Over the course of this month I've read-
Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven + some other author (great book)
The Road by Cormac McMarthy (overall kind of dull, but I still finished it)
Day by Day Armageddon by J.L. Bourne (top notch zombie book, great page turner)
Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks (awesome stuff)
Next up on that theme will be Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank, and I ordered World War Z by Max Brooks last night off of Amazon.
I'm also reading a light non-fiction book about various behind the scene jobs that make movie/tv productions a reality. Not the most interesting book, but it is informative and easy to digest, plus the words are big so I burn through 20-30 pages before I end up stopping.
