what's everyone spending their christmas bonus on?

Not sure we're getting this year. I've been at some companies where they bonuses were pretty sweet. Don't recall what I got last year but don't think it was all that much (less than $1000)

My current company is the first time I've gotten a true annual bonus (one company just stuck it in your 401k). This is my second year with them. We got last year's bonus at the end of February, so I won't see it for another couple months. However last year my bonus was pretty massive, more than 2 paychecks worth of a bonus.

Christmas bonus? What's that? We used to have one but they took it away. Sadly we can't complain much we're lucky to even have a job... they could move everything to India at the drop of a hat and only keep a few techs for the stuff that requires physical intervention.

Ha just realized this month is a 3-pay month. I guess that will be my bonus. I'm going to spend it on hopefully coming close to paying off my credit line. I only have a bit over a grand in there but it seems I can only put a few hundred on it every pay. I really need to consider a secondary source of income since costs of living keep going up. Things were not this tight before.

My BenQ projector is only 8 months old, and it blew a lamp with under 1000 hours on it., Also, for my dedicated HT room, it's too bright, and too short of throw. (have vents, wiring, etc to avoid.) This sony should work much better in my light controlled room and I can mount it where I want it 15 feet back from the screen.

Used to have a Mitsu HC3800 before the BenQ, but I gave it to my brother after the colorwheel failed.

After I get my Benq HT2050 RMA ... I'll maybe stick it in FS/FT, but I think the woman might want to post to ebay ... I'll let her deal with it

In any case, I wasn't planning to spend it, but the lamp popping was the final nail in the coffin ....

There's no explicit "Christmas" bonus but I make bonuses in other ways throughout the year. This time around some new clothing and some trips. There's nothing I really want these days in terms of material possessions, usually just experiences or things I need at the moment.

Work suspended COLA raises this year. They also cancelled the annual holiday party. My christmas bonus this year is "Congratulations, you still have a job... for now."

Instead, my savings account is bearing the brunt of my shitty homeowner's insurance policy for a new roof. Merry fuckin' christmas.
