Well, i made my brown rice with pasta sauce again. :
250 grams of meat and about 1500 to 1600 grams of vegetables (all combined including tomatoes and rice) are in it.
And then to top it of, quality Old Amsterdam grated cheese and added some fine grated cheese i had left.

I have enough food for tonight and the next two more days.

Enough vegetables :

Finally got my hands on some of those Costco Prime Ribeye caps last night. Sous vide'd a couple up and they were just perfect.

I made some beef stroganoff today from scratch. twas gud.

2 Tblsp. oil
1.5 lbs stew meat, diced into 1-2" cubes or strips
1lb button mushrooms, quartered
1 large onion, chopped
2 Tblsp. flour
14.5oz beef broth
1/2 cup water
1 clove garlic or equivalent garlic powder
5 Tblsp. butter
1/2 cup sour cream
teaspoon Dijon mustard.

Brown the meat in a big heavy pot that can go in the oven with the 2 Tblsp. oil. Remove meat, set aside. Add butter and mushrooms, cook for 4 minutes at med-high heat, add onion and garlic, cook for another 4 min or so, then add back the meat and any juices, add in the flour, stir well cook for one minute or 2, stir constantly. Then add beef broth and water. Bring to a boil. Set Oven to 350deg F. Put in oven with lid ON, make sure to use a pot that can do that. Cook for about 1.5 hours - 1hr 45min.
Remove from oven, add Dijon mustard, stir, add sour cream, stir.
Its ready.

I served it over "no yolks" broad egg noodles, but guess you could eat it with any kind of small pasta or even rice. The onions disintegrate completely, after cooking you cant find them. Kinda surprised me. Was delicious.

Made Paella. It was pretty good, but I only had shelled prawns. Still there's less mess from the kids that way.

Thinking about making some spanish rice.
Buy $1.00 boxed rice mix.
Add some canned whole peeled tomatoes maybe also garlic/peppers/onions
add some polish sausage or any meat you desire including hamburger.
brown meat, saute onions, mix and cook rice 20 minutes.

Depends if the wife is cooking or not.

Chilli:
One Onion minced
jalipino peppers from jar
garlic
bush chilli beans 1- mild + 1 Hot
1 can V8 hot and spicy veg juice
1/2 package of Pork Breakfast Sausage browned
Substitute other meat like hamburger or turkey sausage if you must.
some whole peeled tomatoes from can/s
Chilli Powder
Sage
Sweet Basil
Cumin
Tomato Paste thickens chilli
Any other spice you like.

1 Brown sausage drain and add to big pot
2 with a little oil saute onions and garlic and maybe some chilli powder
3. Mix it all together and boil till it taste rights needs to simmer a little . . .
add a little water if you like thinner. Suggest 1/2 cup.

Sometimes chili tastes better if you cook it and let it sit for hours and then boil it again. Sauces and Chili if they are left to sit for a while and age a little will have a more well combined taste. This is because it brings out all the taste of the spices. It will also dry out some of the moisture.

Add cut up hot dogs or corn chips to taste or eat with tostito scoopers.

mind sharing how you prepare your broth? This is something I've been wanting to start playing with for some years now, just never got around to it.
I basically followed the Serious Eats recipe:

http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/09/traditional-beef-pho-recipe.html

I did wrap the star anise, cloves, cinnamon, etc in cheesecloth to create a bouquet garni, which is that weird white blob floating in the broth at the top of the photo.

I almost forgot that I made enough that I froze a couple portions of broth for future use. I might need to have some pho this week.

Edit: Something I forgot to mention. When doing the initial dump after the first 15 or 20 minutes, so you produce a clear broth, I removed and kept the marrow from the bones. It was refrigerated and it firmed up, very similar to foie gras. I toasted some baguette slices in the oven then sliced the marrow thin, put it on top of the toast points, then broiled it for about a minute. F'in delicious.

I have made rice with various vegetables and meat in sweet soy sauce.
I should note, that when i marinade the meat, i keep the sliced up pieces of meat drenched in the sweet soy sauce and at least 24 hours in the fridge for the flavor. I use a bowl and cover it with magnetron plastic foil.

This will keep me fed for the upcoming 2 days as well.

P.S.

I should note that it tastes great with chicken or lean pork meat.
Everything put to together, you can eat for 3 days healthy for less than 12 dollars.
I should also note i use between ~250 and ~300 grams of meat.

If you marinade the meat and bake it, but add it to hot peanut sauce instead, you got great peanut sauce with meat. Also tasty for use with the rice or just on a sandwich.

They just started carrying Wewalka dough at my local grocery store:

http://wewalka.us/

Got one of each to try:

1. Croissant
2. Puff pastry
3. Bistro pizza dough (thinner crust)
4. Family-style pizza dough (thicker crust)

Neat design...they basically lay out the dough on a piece of parchment paper & then roll it up. All you have to do is unroll & use it! So pizza is basically just adding sauce & toppings and throwing in the oven, croissants is just rolling into shape (just like the Pillsbury pop-cans), and the puff pastry is refrigerated (all of them are, actually), so you don't have to thaw it out like the frozen kind. Looks like I'm having pizza, croissants, and some kind of puff pastry dessert for dinner tonight :awe:
