I don't know what it's /supposed/ to be like. I'm only aware of it due to a newish Hawaiian restaurant that opened nearby. I haven't had the poke there, but saw it on the menu. Everything in the aldi bowl was restrained imo. Not loaded with oil or anything.I thought poke was raw fish and not smoked? Anyway, I'm trying to understand this recent poke popularity. There's couple poke dedicated restaurants that opened recently near me. I've had poke from Costco and I don't recommend that. All you taste with Costco poke is massive amount of sesame oil. Sesame oil should be used sparingly as it can easily overpower any food and flavor. Poke just seems to be Hawaiian version of Japanese Chirashi bowl or Korean Hoe-deopbap. Nothing special. I eat Hoe-deopbap fairly often since I usually have fresh ahi tuna at my house. I had it for lunch yesterday. But I've cut back eating ahi tuna to about once every 10 days or so since I learned the dangers of Mercury poisoning.
Your food looks good :^)
