I love Pierogies! Once in a while I make them. Do you make your own or do you buy them already made?

No, I'm afraid I just buy the Mrs. T's frozen. When I'm really lazy I just microwave them and eat them with Sriracha. They're so much better, though, when you take the time to do onions and then fry them in a little butter.

Growing up in western Pennsylvania, my aunts all made them from scratch and you could also buy homemade ones at most church sales on the weekend.

That was lot of food and I was stuffed by the end of the evening. It looks small in the pictures but the portions were generous and the chef sent couple more goodies and treats I forgot to take pictures of. Normally, I have to eat lot of bread to get full at fine dining restaurants but that wasn't the case here. I actually turned down offers for more bread since I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish everything. And the food was excellent. Many times, the food taste doesn't match the presentation but that wasn't the case last night.

That pita chip is actually handcrafted cuatro encinos cheese I think they made in-house along with guava-mezcal, Baja California olive oil, and dark pecan bread.

And this is why you would be better source of information than the Michelin guide. You don't have that pretentiousness that you get with being an institution.

What's the price on one of those? I was latchkey kid growing up and remember eating Hungry-Man. TV dinner like that was special treat and welcome break from instant ramen meals.
