What's the price on one of those? I was latchkey kid growing up and remember eating Hungry-Man. TV dinner like that was special treat and welcome break from instant ramen meals.

I grew up a latchkey kid as well. My favorite at the time was the fried chicken dinner. I would eat the brownie first. These days, I like the Mexican and the turkey dinners.

I buy them from Winco and IIRC around $3.

I haven't had one since high school. I do remember liking it. But I liked and ate everything back then. I even liked school cafeteria food. I can still eat everything but I'm far more picky when it comes to taste. I just looked up another one of my childhood favorites, Banquet fried chicken. 117 reviews, average 1 star out of 5.

WaWa turkey bowl, brandy, and some crab/artichoke dip with crackers. I'm pleased.

Two ribeyes, just salt and pepper, baked potatoes and for dessert I had the pussy and she had the sausage with a salty creamy filling.

lol the brownie. Rubbery on the outside from being microwaved, still slightly frozen on the inside, didn't care because it was a brownie & you got to eat it first just because you could. Ahh, memories

Made NY-style pizza (Serious Eats recipe). Didn't take a picture but here's one I made a couple of months ago. The crust is the best I've ever had. I need to work on the cheese - I've only been using freshly-shredded mozzarella with parmesan sprinkled on top of the sauce, but it really needs some romano for that extra kick.

With all that talk about Little Caesar's recently, I had a craving for it.

Being in the 1%, I splurged and spent the extra $2 for their deep dish square pizza from my college memories rather than their $6 take out special. It was not as nearly as good as my memories of it. I tried virtually everything on their menu (except their cinnamon dessert).

I also got the buffalo wings, which was almost criminally bad. Soggy, drenched in a non-spicy sauce, and super small (about the size of my pinkie). The Crazy Bread didn't have enough cheese on it and tasted bland. I think I prefer Hungry Howie's bread to it. The Crazy Sauce was cold. I preferred it when they heated it up for you. The Italian Cheese bread was also cardboard like.

Overall, it was on par with Domino's which also has a cardboard like $6 pizza.

I guess I've been spoiled by my local pizza place which loads up the toppings:

Made chicken piccata last night, which used to be one of my favorite things to make, but I started getting incredibly rubbery chicken breasts a couple of years ago so I stopped (I guess this is a thing now - woody breast; great job, chicken industry, pumping chickens full of steroids). I found some normal-sized breasts, not 3" thick monstrosities, at the supermarket, so I had some hope for a good meal.

Tried pan frying the breasts at a much higher heat and they came out nearly perfect - slightly dry, but I'll take that over hard rubber any day of the week. Nice crispy edges. I could have thickened the sauce a bit, but it tasted good.

Went Texas Roadhouse. Never been before. I wasn't impressed. I dont really eat steak anyway, and this was a clusterfuck. Lots of people, lots of noise, and overly "corporate". Everything's branded. It reminded me a bit of Medieval Times; blending dinner with an "experience". Got a bacon cheeseburger and a couple beers. It was good, but no better than a place like five guys. I'm cool with never going back.

It was my mother that wanted to go there. We were gonna go to Chopstix(another mediocre restaurant), but she changed her mind. Not sure which was worse. TR was loud as shit, and crowded, but ok food. Chopstix isn't as good as your average Chinese carryout, but at least it's mellow.

Made rack of lamb of the first time on Saturday, the woman and her mom were very pleased, it was fuggin delicious.
Made porterhouse steaks on the cast iron skillet as well as a couple of 2 pound fillets of salmon last week too, soooo tasty.
I made some dirty rice with shrimp and andouille sausage which was awesome too.
I didn't make any gumbo from scratch though as It just takes sooo much work

Got some NY Strip steaks in the fridge for tonight or tomorrow, mmmmm

I made some blue filet mignon (I think I prefer rare), roasted broccoli with lemon, garlic, and grated parmesan, and stuffed portobello mushrooms. Tonight is Kung Pao chicken. I love three day weekends.

Well umm Little Cesar's is like $6 and that pizza in the picture is probably 3-4x the price. Of course it should be better.

I'm thinking hotdogs tonight. I'll lightly toast some hotdog rolls with Swiss cheese, and add hotdogs and kraut. Probably won't be enough, but I'm not sure what else I'll make. Maybe just eat some nuts...

Damn, looks good ponyo!

Here's the Kung Pao chicken I made. I had to omit the chopped scallions because my supermarket was out.

I usually grill/smoke multiple times a week. You're welcome to come over anytime.

That looks better than the Kung Pao I get from restaurants.
