More than 10 tanks blocked roads around Thailand's government headquarters in Bangkok on Tuesday, Reuters witnesses said, and Army television broadcast images of the royal family and songs associated in the past with military coups.

Anyone know whats going on?

I kinda wish the goverment would be taken out. They don;t do sh1t for the sex trade and under age kids being forced into it. Hell even the US will send up flags if it sees you going there more then a couple times a year now.

IIRC Thailand is not totally politically stable. There were massive protests ~5 months ago over elections. This is possibly related.

Either way, it's a freaking awesome country, if only for the ladyboys...

I don't think he's even in the country? He was in Cuba on Saturday, in NY yesterday, doubt he's back yet. Probably they wanted to take advantage of his absence, or something.

Fricken joy... I know I'm only considering myself here but this is just more crap that I have to deal with...

I haven't had a vacation at all this entire year ... we booked Brazil in August and an airliner goes out of business so we had to cancel the package entirely. Then we book a package to Thailand for November and this happens. W-T-F. I'll go vacation in my backyard.
