Hi,

I have a PC which I bought round about 5 years ago and its "HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower PC" you can check its details here. Few days ago I felt that whenever I putted the switch of my PC to outlet and pressed the power button to start PC but its not turning on. And I waited for a half minute and then I tried again and this time when I pressed button it turned on. And it continues and time increased to 1 minute and then after few days when I pressed the power button, PC was not turning on, even after waiting for 1 minute and then I tried again but this time again nothing happened and I waited more and after 2 or 3 minutes when I pressed power button it turned on. I want to say that delay is increasing day by day.

Can you tell me what was the issuee out there?

This PC of HP have Liteon Power Supply which is 300W. And it came with pre built PC as it is. I don't upgraded it.

And its written as Input:
100 - 127 V ~ /8A 50-60Hz
200 - 240 V ~ /4A 50-60Hz

The voltage in my house usually remains in 200 to 225 V.

Second, my graphic card which was "AMD SAPPHIRE HD 5450 1G D3" which I was using in the "HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower PC" also started making issues like whenever I was working on my PC, I started to get sudden blue screen of death, and after that I started seeing vertical blue lines on my screen whenever I turned on PC. Now the situation is if I install this graphic card, PC is keep getting blue screen of death after loading WINDOWS, until I removed it.

Can you help me what was the issue? Is my PC dying or something gone wrong with PSU?

I think it's your PSU, and only your PSU. I strongly suggest you get a voltmeter or a PSU Tester(easier) and test your PSU.

Plenty of you-tube videos explaining how to use a meter, but a tester is self explanatory. Both are cheap, and easy to use. You will save yourself a lot of frustration and money in the process. I had two PSUs go bad on me in last 10 years. The 1st one was clearly showing bad readings on the voltmeter so that was easy. The 2nd one, worked intermittently, but caused all kinds of issues. I disassembled the PC, tested mobo, ram, etc... couldn't find anything! voltmeter readings were notmal on all leads except for 24pin, but I wasn't sure because the fan was spinning, and I never seen such behavior before. I got a 10 dollar PSU tester, and it quickly showed me the 24pin connector was not feeding enough power.

Had I done it right from the start, I'd save a lot of time and headache.

Thanks for your help. I replaced that PSU with other one and PC is working fine now. But still GPU is not working I think GPU is permanently damaged. Now I am finding out what was the reason of this all issues. So next time I can save my new PSU from this.

Make sure it's not an outdated driver. Run an update. Also re-seat your video card in it's slot. Go to windows event logs and check for errors. Copy/paste errors into google and resolve whatever errors there are.

It is possible the video card is dead... If you can try it in another PC, test it. If not, hopefully the warranty on that card is still intact.
