Got married and decided to have emergency funds just in case.
A couple of 24k bullions and $45K.
I know its a waste but I know I won't be poor if I ever get a divorce.

Really need to get one. We've got a couple grand in savings bonds and birth/marriage certs in a small safe we keep in the house. Should really move that over to a safe deposit box.

That is really stupid to be voluntarily posting such information in a public forum for multiple reasons, not just a future divorce scenario.

I have a safe deposit box but unless compelled by law the contents of it is private information.

Pretty sure any lawyer worth their hourly would run credit checks and such to find any assets which would include this safe deposit box. Mine shows up as just another account at my bank.

Car Titles
Birth Certificates
House Deed
Social Security Card


I mean really, 4 slips of paper - is it really worth it? How much is a safety deposit box these days?

Listen I love my wife but I'm not a stupid one.
I saved quite of bit of money before I got married so its perfectly fine for me to put some aside for myself.
