I saw that Anandtech votes the iiYama VisionMaster PRO 450 at a price around 600- yet the cheapest you can get is about 620. That's a bit steep for me. I was woundering if anyone else knew of a great 19" Inch Moniter under 600$. Don't get me wrong the iiYama VisionMaster PRO 450 is a great moniter, just real hard to find. And when so few resellers carry it, they can charge OUTRAGEOUS for it. Anyways thanks for anyone who replies

KDS is ok, If you don't mind the tube being twisted in the Bessel. I would go for an NEC myself. I bought Optiquest reconditioned. I'm very happy with it.
These a just a couple out of many that you might be able to pick up under $600

Viewsonic has a 19' monitor for around 350-400 at mwave.com

that's a great deal because viewsonic is one of the best monitor out.. and KDS plain sux, that is why their price is always cheaper than other companies

Viewsonic

Remember to go to Onvia.com because they always got some good deals on monitors. I got a 19 inch sony g400 for 480 after pointclick rebate and onvia.com coupons from them.

I too am looking for a 19" monitor, but one with a short neck/depth -- my computer desk only supports up to a 17" monitor.

Any suggestions?

Nothing but KDS?? Let me offer something a little bit different:

Shadow mask - Samsung SyncMaster 900IFT ~$350, perfect flat, 0.20mm dot pitch, definitely better than the KDS VisualSensations.

Aperture Grille - Samsung SycnMaster 900NF ~$400, DiamondTron Natural Flat, 0.25mm grille pitch, ultra high resolutions and refresh rates. Best bang for the buck 19" bar none.

KDS, Samsung, or maybe Hitachi if you're looking for a good shadow mask though if you do want a shadow mask, the 900IFT would probably be better.

Wow what a great response.

I guess the two big contendars are the
KDS AV-194TF
Samsung SycnMaster 900NF

Among the Aperture Grille Realm that is. Both on the market for aprox 400, witch is a great price for a 19 Inch Moniter with good quality.

So im just trying to decide between the two. I started off liking the KDS the most, but when I went looking for posts about it on the Anand Boards, people tended to have some glare problems and other such small problems. Does the Samsung have the same problems for a few people? Im just trying to decide between the two, the price difference is so small, it's not a factor.

Thanks Again Everybody

Antman: If you notice any glare problems you'll notice them on both monitors - the only real difference is the actual tube quality, not the screen surface. The KDS uses a Sony FD Trinitron tube, the Samsung uses a Mitsubishi Diamondtron NF tube. It's up to you.

I have the Belinea 10 60 30, I don't like the buttons at the front, its not the best of 19", but for £155, which is what I paid, you can't get better. In the UK it would normally be £219 or p'raps $320.

I just got the NEC 95F. It supports up to 1600x1200 @75, .25 dp and flat. Runs about $330.
Invar Shadow mask. The model just came out in August and I like it. One of the things I like best is that NEC just put into place a written warranty to replace with a NEW monitor should something happen. I think KDS replaces with refurbs. That was a factor for me. I couldn't find a store near me that sold it, so I had to buy it on the specs and am satisfied.

NEC Accusync 95F

If you're really looking for cheap, pick up a Mag Innovision 19" from Wal-Mart for less than $300. Of course if you're looking for quality you'll avoid that model...
