Gouki255: Don't quote me on this, but I believe since the KDS AV-19TF is comparable to the Sony G400, and since the E400 is supposed to be inferior to the G400, we can deduce that the KDS AV-195TF is "better" than the Sony E400, based on specifications alone.

Both are awesome moniters, both the same price, relativly, and both samsung and kds have great track records. I dont know much about moniter tubes, so I can make a choice off of that either. So if anyone has any last minute things to say about either of these two moniters, pleas o please let me know what it is, so I can get a better choice on one of the moniters. Ohh and I would like to thank everyone so much for replying and helping me out.

I think you'll be satisfied with either one...the Sony and Mitsubishi Flat Tubes are simply amazing.

I have the Samsung 900NF and couldn't be happier.

As far as brand recognition goes, I have heard more good things about Samsung than I have about KDS (being relativly new to the industry). Personal preference over the company name is why I bought my 900NF. I have no real comparison other than to say you will be happy with either monitor.

both KDS and Samsung make a wide range of monitors, altho KDS was formerly more involved in OEM business. as for the FD trinitron and NF diamondtrons, *some* say the sonys have smoother/better constrasted picture and the mitsus have sharper/clearer text, but its only their opinions. personally i liked FD trinitrons better and went with a KDS-195TF and couldnt be happier. you couldnt go wrong with either one tho. whichever one you find with better price is the one for you.

Bllody hell, how come monitors are so cheap in the USA?
A Samsung 900IFT costs in the region of US$600 - let me get an actual calculation...yes US$591 in Hong Kong...
I'm paying US$360 for the 17" 700IFT... it will be delivered on Friday.
We don't even have sales tax here and we are only "down the road" from Korea.. ;(

I have the AV-195TF. Great monitor and KDS has great support as I have had to RMA an older Shadow Mask monitor. No questions asked and the replacement came very quickly.

After reading a few reviews I went for an LG (Goldstar) Studioworks 995E, I wasn't sure I had made the right move as LG are known for budget electronics in the UK but after receiving the monitor I have to say I am very impressed, it is clearer/sharper than the 17" Samsung it replaced and I would recomend it to anyone (I have since supplied 3 to customers who have all been suitably impressed).
I found mine on QXl Auction site (UK) at £245 delivered

I've had both the 900NF and AV-195TF. I currently only have the 900NF. Both are great but I love the BNC inputs of the 900NF and it seems a little nicer with graphics.

Damn!! The KDS-av195tf has no BNC input??? I guess I need to do more research. Can anyone suggest another 19" FD Trinitron with BNC except the G400, I think it's kind of overpriced.

you don't really need a BNC unless you have gfx card with a BNC output and works for hi end graphic workstation stuff
