What's the best credit card out right now I can get?

I'm turning 18 in about a month, and was wondering what good credit card deals are out right now that I would be able to attain as an 18 year old.

Does the paypal debit card count on my credit, as I already have one of those. I also have a Visa debit card if that helps too. All this credit stuff confuses me.

When I turned 18, I saw an ad in hot deals for getting a $200 gift card or something like that if you signed up for a charles schwab card, so I did, and was accepted.

dude, just get a card from a company whose policy is not jack up for APR from 0% to 59% if you carry a balance. Good luck.

I turned eighteen six months ago or so, and I just get one from my bank (Bank of America Student Visa). It's not a good credit card by any means, but since I'm still used to cash, I barely use it. But, when I do, I pay it off IN FULL EVERY MONTH. That's the surest way to get good credit, which should save you tens of thousands of dollars in interest payments throughout your life.

American Express declined me for their Blue for Students card because I had no credit history (duh, I'm a student who just turned 18, and trying to build one). So, I figure now that I have a short credit history, I'll try applying for the AmEx again, and then I won't have to deal with Bank of America for my credit card anymore.

As a student, most companies are willing to give you a credit card with a small limit. Mine is $500, but again, NEVER CARRY A BALANCE.

1) If you're attending college and they have cc companies on campus, apply there.
That's how I got my very first cc with a whopping $300 limit.

2) Get a co-signer (parent, sibling, girlfriend, neighbor, anyone).

3) When my sister turned 18 she applied for a secured credit card and was GUARANTEED approval with her $500 collateral deposit. After one year she applied for a regular unsecured cc, was approved, closed the secured cc and received her $500 deposit + interest earned.
