What's the best gaming 19" LCD under $500?

I have $500 to spend on a new 19" LCD monitor. I play a lot of computer games, so one with minimal ghosting and a fast response time would be needed. Also needs to be DVI as I want to use that function since my videocard supports it.


The monitor I am leaning towards is:

It does have a DVI connector, just no DVI cable, which I do have a spare.



Anyone have any other suggestions?

That a good monitor buyer's guide that includes the BENQ your looking at. I looking to buy one under 400 before christmas and the only thing keeping me from buying the BENQ is the fact that its 6 bit.

I should have waited on mine, I thought I got a deal at $450 (no DVI port either).

I got the Dell 20" (2001FP) for $564. I'd recommend that one.

While I would love one of those Dell 2001FP's, with thier native resolution being 1600x1200, I think you would need a top level video card to play games at that screen's native resolution. I only have a Nvidia FX 5700 256MB card and don't have the money to upgrade it at the moment. Not sure my card can give me good frame rates at this LCD's native resolution. Plus many games simply don't go that high. How is that monitor at playing games at non-native resolutions, like 1280x1024?

The NuTech 19" that anandtech just reviewed seems to be a killer lcd for under $400.

Playing games on your LCDs native resolution is nice, but not the end-of-the-world in terms of how the game(s) look. Play at 1024x768, it will still look nice.
