Windex + a soft towel that doesn't leave dust behind. Check some of those car towels they sell, it's very good.

One last thing, spray the windex on the towel, not on the screen

At your local pharmacy look for eyeglass cleaner in a spray bottle. Works great.

I've read that you shouldn't use any product that contains ammonia as it can degrade the clear plastic cover on LCD's over time. Windex contains ammonia. I use distilled water on a clean, soft cotton towel. GP

Get one of those magic sponges from the posts about getting free ones in the hot deal section. They can remove pen marks very easily if you happen to write on your LCD.

you can spray it on the screen but just as with windows you have to start whiping it right away, but if you're unsure of how to do it you should just go ahead and spray the towel as that works as well.

Hmmm when I read the manual for the Benq 951 it said to use just a towel, but NO WATER/WINDEX/CLEANERS whatsoever.

Then when I switched to the dell2001fp, I hear people using WATER + towel, even windex. What accounts for this difference? What are the chances that water will seep in and damage the panel?

You'll want to use some antibacterial cleaner, and lots of it. Spray it on nice and thick, and then leave it to dry after wiping. Buff to a shine with a cloth. Voila, one clean lab top.

Now, if you want help with your LAPtop screen then maybe you'd care to call it that.

Clean washcloth or soft towel with hot water (wringe it out). Then dry with soft cotton cloth.

Benq might also have investment in LCD whipes you have to pay extra $ for, I've yet to hear a good reason why not to use windex on a screen as long as you do it properly.

DONT use windex. it's ammonia will kill the lcd's anti-glare coating. water and a towel works fine. i have 4 lcd's at home and i've yet to see something that works better then water and a towel.

Warning though, if the water gets under the screen it'll cause some damage. I use electronic cleaning wipes. You can get them at an electronics store like officemax or circuit city.

that's why you should put water on the tower first. water wont get under the screen as long as you dont try to. generally what i'm saying is to just use a moist towel. not a drenched one.
