It's one I use frequently!

Seriously, though... you could probably get a cheaper and better education from a state school. Last I heard, you can still get a 4 year degree at Bloomsburg University (My Alma Mater, go Huskies!) for less than $25,000 if you're a resident.

UConn costs WAY more than that, mostly because their Huskies sport teams are a bit more well known

My brother is doing an advanced degree online at Harvard, they require at least one semester on campus though. He is carrying 4.0GPA and came close to project of the year.

It's expensive, challenging, but still I'd say the best.

Damn... that class looks like it includes everything that I was taught in my first two programming courses in college

When I watched the first lecture I was surprised there really wasn't a requirement for a book.

The problem I have with the online approach is graduates often come out worse than "home schooled"...

In addition it's hard to know the validity of these degrees. I can imagine circumventing online test/homework etc....

I would say the only reason to go to online school over doing it yourself through reading and getting certs is if you lack the motivation to do it on your own.

True. I got a degree in another field and now want to switch over so I took Cisco classes at a community college to prepare for the test.

I just hope that certs and an unrelated degree will get me a job.

Having gotten a degree at a normal 4 year university and mixed in a few online classes, I don't see how you can get anywhere close to the same education purely online.

The material learned in class is only half the value of going to college. The other half is meeting people, networking, talking to professors/TAs/students, etc.
