Whats the best PC Gaming Headset?

I am looking for a new PC Gaming headset. Keep in mind I want to be able to hook it up to my Soundblaster X-FI Fatal1ty Soundcard to get 5.1 sound and to be able to use EAX, etc... I know there are some good USB headsets, but with those, Im not able to utilize my awesome soundcard. Any suggestions?

"gaming" headsets usually are of poor audio quality, and sometimes build

Best I've used so far (current setup) = X-fi Fatality + AudioTechnica A900 + Zalman Mic1.

Be sure to use headphone mode in the X-fi panel. Use CMSS3D-Headphone for more realistic sound panning. Turn CMSS3D off for slightly better positional accuracy, but less natural panning.

I wouldn't recommend a 5.1 headset. They're limited to 20kHz (sometimes 16kHz), which isn't nearly enough to accurately hear sounds in games. The most obvious example being far off footsteps or any sound that is a high freq., low volume sound.

It honestly doesn't matter if you have 20 crappy speakers hooked up in surround mode if they can't reproduce the sounds coming from the game.

Geez, why doesn't a company make a good USB gaming headset? And why don't software companies program the audio in their games to run through USB headsets without causing problems?

I love my sennheiser PC-150 headset - very comfortable and decent sound.
