what's the best way to break a large piece of glass safely

Its probably tempered so it going to break in a 1000 small pieces. Lay it on the driveway, cover it with a sheet, break and sweep.

Have a friend hold one side, you hold the other, so the glass is upright. Then cautiously cross a quiet street. Next thing you know, a black Lambo being chased by a cop cruiser will tear down said street. And the rest is history.

Put it on the curb with a sign that says "Free" on it.

It would be gone in about 4 minutes in my neighborhood.

I saw it on Attack of the Show, if you have the piece of glass under water, with a sharp enough pair of scissors, you can cut it without shattering. I'll see if there is a youtube of this.

whatever you do if your city says they can pick it up in one piece don't let them.

I had a sliding glass door, I called in to find out how to have it picked up and should i break it into a box and cut up the frame.

Guy said no problem they can pick it up in one piece.

Fkers used a jaw crane on it and broke it into a 1000 pieces in my lawn. Luckily it was tempered and I could just shop vac 99% of it up.

I called the guy back pissed and he was like 'uh yeah that happens, you could have put the glass in a box and left the frame'
