The way you dwell on those things here, I am willing to bet you do the same at work either indirectly or directly, so I'd venture that it's not so inappropriate on their part.
Since there's no love lost between either of us I'll take your comments with more than a grain of salt.Btw,I am very well aware of how to properly conduct myself at work.These comments were unsolicited and left a couple other folks also standing there with their jaws dropping.
