Real burger of course... apparently the same people who set the Guiness Record for the largest burger back in '89 only to have it broken in '99 has reassembled and will attempt to construct(for lack of better terms ) an 8-ton hamburger.
Story can be found:
Here
The town of Seymour has the schedule set and will definitely grill this burger "rain or shine"
<< The dimensions of this year's burger were calculated by the company donating the beef - they estimate it to be 22-by-22 feet and about 5.5 inches thick. >>
But their just talking about the patty there... when I first read the article, I thought that the team would make an entire burger w/ the buns, lettuce, tomatoes and everything (the vegetables would of course be genetically grown )... instead they just plan on making the patty and chopping it into serving size (10,000 servings to be exact) - making me quite disappointed...
Anybody going to happen to be in the area at the time? I'd appreciate a report
The only question that I have is that, how is such a feat funded? Is it a whole city fund raising thing? Because if it is , they'll have to get a lot of money off the tickets in order to justify the costs! Not so much the material... but all the man-labor and prep-teams that are required to begin w/ :Q
Guess it shows what some groups would do to regain their title and pride.
