Here's some tips when buying fish oil pills. To test the freshness of fish oil pills, bite into the pills and taste the oil. Fresh fish oil should not taste or smell extremely fishy. It should have a very light fish smell/taste to it. If it is extremely fishy, chances are its gone rancid/bad and has little nutritional value.
Here's some good brands:
Carlson's Norwegian fish oil liquid in lemon flavor (expensive but good quality)
Pure Encapsulations fish oil pills (performs an assays on all their products to ensure quality)
Kirkland enteric coated fish oil pills (pretty decent fish oil pills for the person on a budget)
To keep fish oil pills and supplements fresh and have a longer shelf life, stick them in a fridge.
BTW to not hijack this thread and to answer the OP's question... Try some fish oil pills.
