But it's winter and he's in a car that doesn't corner well, so he slid onto the snow-covered grass, still doing ~80, did a 360 and came out of the spin perfectly onto the entrance ramp. He got back on the highway without skipping a beat and was still on it when I got off 15 minutes later, though doing 65 in the right lane.

Oh, another one: A few years back, NC had a major snow/ice storm. The power grid was knocked out all over the state, and the roads were covered in so much snow you couldn't drive faster than 25mph without wrecking. My place of work was iffy on whether they were actually going to be open. They had a backup power system, but you only had a few lights on here and there. Anyway, I headed in on the Interstate. There were literally MILES of cars that were wrecked and pulled off to the side of the road. I saw several idiots that somehow were flying down the road at 50+, which was probably the cause of all those wrecks. I found out later that AAA was overwhelmed with tow requests, and took hours to respond to a lot of calls.
My gf had to drive home from work in that. Took her like 2 hours for a drive that's normally 15 minutes. She said there were a lot of dumbasses in RWD trucks & SUV's sliding all over the road 'cuz they don't know how to drive their damn cars.

The problem was every workplace decided to send everyone home at the exact same time.

I was driving through this as well. Was on 85 heading from Raleigh towards Richmond at night, and wound up having to sit on the highway for nearly an hour because helos were landing on our side to clear out victims of the miles of accident on the other side of the interstate. I was AMAZED at how poorly the roads were kept--my car was gathering ice on the front about an inch an hour, so I would get out periodically to chip the ice off my headlights, and the walking on the highway was like walking on a skating rink. In my four years living in upstate New York, I've never seen roads that bad, ever. The number of totalled cars littering the highway and shoulder on the other side of the interstate was absolutely amazing.

In India, I was climbing up this mountain on an 8 mile long path that went up 5200 feet. I remember at the bottom there was this man with no legs. He sat on a skateboard and was using 15 pound dumbells to prop himself forward. I wonder if he ever made it up. There were parts of that path that were at 30 degree inclines. I never did see him again on the way back.

Somehow, I guess due to the ricer being so low to the ground, the cat did not go under the car, but got turned around, and all of a sudden in an instant, the cat was again at full speed, but now headed back right to left, and I think he safely made it across the road to where he started. Seems he somehow was turned 180 degrees while being pushed along the road in front of the ricer, he was probably in front of the ricer for a second or two, then in his certain panic kept running full tilt, but was now facing towards the other side of the road, where he started from. I suppose he made it without serious injury, maybe some road rash.... lucky kitty.

I was driving down the road (Hinesburg road in Vermont) going south and there was a subaru outback in front of me probably going 45 or 50. A cat darted out from the ditch giving the guy no time to stop or anything. As near as I could tell, the cat made it past the first tire and then the car rolled over it. It looked like the cat was flipped around underneath the car before coming back to its feet behind it and then completing the run across the road. It looks like it was unharmed.

The many things said by the Bush admin clearly overdoes anything i've ever experienced personally. But then again, i have no great story to tell.

I was sitting at in intersection in the passenger seat, the light was red except for people making turns onto the road (highway). I looked down and was picking at my nails when I heard a massive smash and I looked up to see a small black car spinning wildy across the interesection and a large SUV spinning in to the right down the highway off the road on 2 wheels glass and metal going everywhere. The woman in the SUV was knocked out, the SUV totaled. The guy in the black car got out, walked over and saw what happened to the SUV and the woman and he freaked and got back into his car and drove away. He didnt make it far though, his car was really smashed up. Apparently the guy ran the light at about 60-70 mph and T-boned the SUV which was making a right. Scary stuff, if the SUV had not been there we would have been hit.

Nope, she just popped it into reverse and the car did it's thing.

The car was an 88 Monte Carlo, had just a couple scratches on the bumper. The house, OTOH, had over $15k worth of damage.

I throw the nade just as the bomb explodes, so it sends my corpse flying, the nade lands in the alcove killing the guy.

Everyone in Teamspeak is stunned silent by my battle cry...but all erupted in cheers when they saw what happened. I have a demo of it somewhere, SourceTV on the server actually catches me throwing the nade, as the bomb explodes, sending me flying with the nade infront of me, than pans on the nade all the way to the guys feet, than pulls out to watch the guy fly up dead. Was beautifull.
why, you still lost? kinda pointless.

On a similar note, I nearly went head first into an audi coming the other way when I was driving whilst my ex was uh... doing stuff. Swerved, brought the car sideways and missed by about a foot. Receiving head whilst driving is not safe.

How about "ball lightning"?
I'm sure it's been the cause of some UFO reports..

This happened in Oct. of 1972. I was sick with the flu, my mom was just getting over it, so I was sitting watching TV in the family room, my mom was in bed taking a nap. My dog was in bed with her, as usual. There was a seemingly normal type of thunderstorm going through, nothing really special. About 5 minutes after it hit it's peak, I looked over to the left, where the hall went down to the bedrooms. It got really bright for a few seconds, then there was a big POP noise, and my dog ran out with his ears pinned back! I went into my mom's room. It stunk really bad, like about a hundred soldering irons smoldering away. I turned on the lights, and mom's TV was smoking. It was junk. My mom said this fireball came out of the back of the TV and hovered a couple of seconds and then exploded. We talked for a few minutes and figured she and my dad would be buying a new TV for their bedroom after he got home. I took the junk TV out to the garage to get the stink out of the house. Then I went back to the family room to watch TV again. My dog got up on the couch that was about 6 ft to the right of the family room TV , and went to sleep. About 15 minutes later, the storm got wound up again, and there were a couple of close by strikes. All of a sudden, the TV picture went pure white, and then this ball of fire came out of the wall mounted A/C unit that was above the TV. It kind of floated about 6 ft in the air making a loud sizzling noise kind of like if you ever heard grease splatter from water getting into it. It was a little bigger than a softball, kind of bluish with orangeish red "fire" burning on it. The TV went black and the fireball exploded into several "pieces" that seemed to just dissapear when they hit stuff. This time it sounded more like a shotgun being fired than just a loud POP. One of the pieces "hit" about a foot over the dog's head! Needless to say, he was outta there, and went under the kitchen table where he stayed a long time. The TV was blasted, the tuner was one of those turret type, and the gold plated contacts were welded together, so you couldn't change the channel if the TV worked anymore anyway! That TV had always had problems with the audio amp circuit. Now it didn't have one, the fiberglass PC board was left, but the copper traces and the parts were either gone, or burnt into powder. Oh well, we we looking to get a new TV anyway, that one had been a lemon. I called my dad and told him we needed to buy two TV sets, he couldn't seem to understand what happened. He made some remark about me blowing up one once ( I did, by accident). He decided to come home and see what happened. He looked at the little one in the garage, and then we went in to look at the big one. I had the parts sitting on the kitchen table. The dog was still under it. He went and talked to my mom, and after dinner, we went out and bought two new TV sets. The replacement for the bedroom TV lasted for over 20 years, the replacement for the big one lasted less than two. It got blasted by "regular" lightning. I didn't see that, but the dog got to see it! He was a mess in storms for the rest of his life...

Well I have witnessed some really outrageous crazy things in my life, but don't think I could put it on this public forum! Heh Heh Heh...

But I can tell you about a bunch of Police Officers I saw once chasing a Wallaby out in a field that belonged to one of my neighbors! It was hilarious! Animal control came out right after they got there..

They had one heck of a time trying to catch that miniature kangaroo.. and the grass was real tall and all you could see is his little head and ears bouncing up and down above the tall grass as the guys were scrambling about trying to catch him.

yeah, that's what it it is.

and i guess to someone non-medical, backwards organs wouldn't really look too weird at all.

My mom has this, never knew it until she was about 30, right before I was born. She went in for an insurance physical when my dad and her got married, and the doctor says, "Well, you're one in a million!" When my grandmother had her gall bladder out a few years later, she had it too.

I'm "regular".
