What's the difference between these ram models?

Hi, I am probably getting 1gb of ram and I found this g. skill stuff for $98. My question is, what is the difference between these two models?

They seem the same to me. Same module size (512mb), same cas(2-3-3-6), same brand, look the same. Why the $40 difference. They do have different model numbers, (gbla and gbzx). Do they use a different type of ram chips or something? Is the more expensive stuff tccd or something. Thanks for your input.

No idea. if you zoom in on the chips, the numbering on the chips looks like the same on both. Can't say for sure though since it gets kinda blurry. It isn't the same picture either, as the model corresponds correctly too. Only difference I can see is that the cheaper one is in stock!

It's got a slower CAS rating and it's only 512mb total.

My bad, I should have realized that it was 512(I guess I saw that and thought 512x2, even though it's 512 total.) So would the cas 2.5 tccd pc 4400 run faster than the pc3200 cas 2?

Depends if your board can handle it, or if you're going to overclock it. going from 2.5 to 2 only gives a few % increase in performance if i remember correctly. So if you're going to OC a lot, i'd go with 4400. If you're not at all, stick with the 3200.

Well, I'm not oc'ing at the moment, but I want to have ram that's capable, so I'm ready if I ever want to. The regular pc3200 says it can go to ddr480 at 2.5-4-4-7.

BTW: It's for a Chaintech vnf4 nforce 4 ultra mobo and a 3000+ cpu.

If you are building an athlon 64 system the latency timing of CAS3 produces the same performance results as CAS2
