The higher number models carry a higher price, and faster RAM and core clock. Other than that, I believe they are exactly the same in what features they are able to support.

Let your wallet decide how much you can spend, and then get the card that best suites your taste. From what I've read, there is minimal difference between brands of the video cards with the same chipset. Personally, I like Gainward's cards, but there are other good brands out there too, I've just not had much experience with them

GF4 Ti 4200: 250MHz Core Clock, 64MB of 500MHz DDR RAM or 128MB of 444MHz DDR RAM (128MB can be overclocked to 500MHz DDR, and is prefferable). 64Meg version is $179, 128Meg at $200
GF4 Ti 4400: 275MHz Core Clock, 128MB 550MHz DDR RAM, As low as $230-250 right now
GF4 Ti 4600: 300MHz Core Clock, 128MB 650MHz DDR RAM. $300-400

All of these cards (even the Ti 4200) destroy the competition, and all have nView and all are based on the NV25 Core.

As for what brand, take a look at Anandtech's GF4 Ti 4400/4600 Roundup

However, I noticed that the Ti 4200's uses an 'older' type of memory whereas the 4400 and 4600's use the newer BGA-type memory that runs cooler and doesn't even need a heatsink.

I think I'm waiting for the Gainward 64MB version to come out. It should have 3.6ns memory (unlike 4ns on the 128MB version) clocked to about 530mhz. The extra 64MB isn't worth the cut in memory clock.

Knowing Gainward I would think you'd be able to push the memory up to 600mhz or so with ease.

Gainward, Leadtek, and even ASUS for OCing. Otherwise, it really doesn't matter which brand you buy.

Would anybody know where i can get information about OC the Gainward GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128 mb version? Is it safe and easy to do? I have never OC anything in my life. Also, should i get any extra fans for it? And how long would the life of the OC graphic card reduced to? Thanks

No one has mentioned features available in these cards.
Ti4600 is the only card that offers dual DVI outputs
What other features sets this card apart from other cards?

I placed an order form ATACOM.com early. They still have some in stock. (Thanks God!!) On Tom's hardware, it metion about the performance of this card. basically, it is a good choose of paying less and getting more. So I just got one for my son's birthday.

Gainward and Leadtek are both great brands. Both have superb 2D image quality and overclock quite well too.

My friend has the same motherboard....

Just wanted to mention that it doesnt work together with GF3 (maybe same prob with GF4) without the latest BIOS update.

It was a real bi**h to figure that one out. You wouldnt think that a brand new MB model wouldnt work with GF3's (tried 2 different !) without update.
On top of all... it seems like his Samsung 333 Mhz memory is faulty.

Cheers
