Whats the easiest way to create a basic webpage aka website building for dummies

I'm looking for a simple way or program to put up a webpage. I want to put together a page based on photography and music so it will be something with lots of images and links. Whats the best way of getting a site started quickly? Are there any good programs for site building? Preferably something thats easy to pick up and get going with.

Picking up X/D/Html isn't very difficult. Create a CSS file, it will do the formatting of all your webpages. You may even be able to find the CSS of the websites you were looking at. While programs like Dreamweaver are good, you have a lot more control/finesse when coding it by hand in notepad.

If you want something similar to GameHippo, why not just use PostNuke. It's already built for you and it's easy to customize.

I was reading up on Postnuke last weekend and it was bit complex (ie.. I was to lazy to really read through the text files)

Don't you need a webspace to use Postnuke? From all the faqs I read I never saw anything that showed you how to install the program locally.

You can run PostNuke locally but you'd have to install PHP and MySQL also. I assumed you had a server for your web site already, possibly with PHP and MySQL already installed. If you plan to serve the pages on your own computer, then running PostNuke or PHPNuke may be too complicated for you. Although if you took a little time to figure it out, it's really not that hard.

If you've already got hosting with PHP and MySQL, then installing and using PostNuke is a breeze.
