the most awesome days are when you know you have nothing you need to wake up to, and you put in earplugs. Oh man. So nice. Pure silence.

sleeping with earplugs...hmmm. sounds interesting

Are you talking about the cheap foam ones that you stuff in your ears?

I ask because sometimes roommates will come home late from the bar and its annoying to be woken up by drunk people lol

old people? 10 am
my friends? noon

I usually sleep until 10-11 on my days off... I'd rather not get calls until after I'm dressed, showered, and eaten breakfast.

standard is 9-10am. Most of the time if you are questioning a weekend call, save it for Monday when it's convenient for them not the caller.

I think this varies greatly upon who you are calling.
College/HS kid? Not before 10am
Parent/Adult? Not before 8am
Parent of young kid? 7am is probably fine.

We have a 17 month old boy. On weekends, don't call before 9:30 or 10am.

11 AM, that's the latest that I consider to give enough headway to meet up for a noon lunch.

Yeah simple foam ones. These are the best ones I've found:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10535852

Those little purple ones have the highest NRR (33, for some reason site picture is 31) and are cheaper than the other ones I've seen next to them. Plus they say made in the USA!

Most of my friends have young children so anytime after 8AM is acceptable. Hell, if I get to sleep in until 7AM on the weekends I'm happy.

QFT, 100% (I also have two puppies who like to have their first pee at 6am).

However, otherwise, I would say 9am or 10am, depending on who you are calling.

These are the ones I prefer: http://hearos.com/earplugs/products-02525.html

The regular cheap ones usually become irritating and painful to me if I kept wearing them for long periods of time like sleeping. I stopped wearing them years ago because I felt I was becoming even more sensitive to noise whe sleeping by being using earplugs.

You just need someone from work to get their laptop with everyone's SSN on it stolen, then you can get free credit monitoring for 3 years like me.

<-- works from 9pm to 6am.
<-- gets home around 6:30am.
<-- goes to sleep around 7:30am.
<-- wakes up around 4:00pm

If my phone rings at 8am... someone better be dead.

8 or 9 am

if you don't want your phone ringing, turn off the ringer and the person calling can leave a message or text you or email you

you do have some control over this process as well

I agree completely. I think it's inappropriate to call someone at 6-7 am, but it's fine past 9 am even on the weekends. If someone plans to be sleeping during normal waking hours, then they need to have their ringer/phone turned off.

I generally consider 9A-9P "safe" times for most people as well as making noise outside. 11A-7P is preferred.

I don't like when people call before 10a. I have a 2 year old and if she had a bad night sleeping, I did too.
I also don't like if people call after 8pm.

I do not agree that you should turn off your ringer. If someone calls too early, give them an earful and hang up. Otherwise, the ringer should be on for emergencies.

(Disclaimer: I tend to be more responsible and responsive than most to emergencies, so I am one of the members of the family and my group of friends who will get such calls. If you are not someone who would get called in an emergency, you can ignore this post.)
