Saying that, I've gone 115MPH in my car (measured by GPS - showing 120 on speedo), ONCE, and there were absolutely no other cars on the road, so if I fvcked up, it would have been only me that would have been killed/injured. It's not worth risking going more than 100 in the UK in my opinion.

You people are either crazy (and damn good) or lyers. Most 4-banger cars won't even accelerate past 120mph. My old 97 Camry would barely accelerate once it reached 90. It'd probably take me 10 minutes to get it from 100 to 140mph. That's provided I had enough highway space to do something like that.

The fastest I've ever gone was 100mph and at that speed the car is already pretty damn unstable. And I drive a sports car with sports suspension and tires.

Fastest I've ever personally driven was 110 in my truck on I-70 in MD near Frederick/Hagerstown area.

Fastest I've gone was in this guy's Corvette with the top down riding shotgun, speedometer hit 153 (digital readout) over a 1 mile stretch on a 45mph road through 4 traffic lights. Scared the living sht out of me, never been sucked back into a seat so fast/hard, we probably were doing around 140-145. Next time I ask for a ride home from this guy he felt the need to floor it in the rain in his Grand National... we were fishtailing like crazy and that was the last time I ever asked him for a ride home. He was a completely insane meathead, probably the craziest I've ever met.

I did 128mph in my 94 Mitsubishi Galant (before I sold it)........I was also underage and drunk because it was the day my sister got married and her new father-in-law kept pushing beer on me. He kept saying, "You're a college kid...you're supposed to know how to drink." So....after about 7 cups of nasty ice house I hit the road..... Luckily, I didn't get caught. I'll just never forget how stupid I was for getting behind the wheel.
