cars:
- 135mph in a 91 civic si hatchback with dad driving.. dont ask me how it went that fast ! light i guess. (
- 118mph in 99 subaru outback wagon (165hp/165tq 4cyl..) .. wouldn't go any faster (also dad driving at that time)
- not even 95mph in 95 suzuki swift 4cyl automatic
- ford tempo .. top speed never attempted (too scary and it was always broken)
- 155mph in my (now stolen) 85 iroc-z (305 H.O. with some mods.. intake, exhaust, carb, highflow cat. etc etc)
- 140mph in my buddy's (now sold) 86 V6 2.8L stock camaro (takes longer to get up there than the iroc )
- 140mph in my buddy's 04 mitsubishi ralliart .. still pulling but runs out of gear .. damn the 5-speed!
- just under 118mph in buddy's 93 caprice (now sold) with fuel injection - 350ci (but not the LT1 , the one before it)
- 112mph in my bro's 04 echo hatchback.. hehehehe (people actually laugh at it.. !) <-- its "limited" at 112
- 112mph in bro's (now sold) 92 protoge
- 125mph in my 03 Lancer ES .. no A/C no options whatsoever. guess i get a slight weight advantage

bike:
- 1985 yamaha 1100 sport-touring bike.. we must have hit about 130mph (i was passenger), but i was scared sh1tless cause it was my first time on a bike and i felt like i was gonna get sucked off the bike like into outer space!

favorite out of above cars: my 85 iroc (loved the V8 and RWD) and my buddy's 04 ralliart (amazing handling characteristics for a FWD car)
but i miss my camaro so much.. its been months since it was stolen and i still miss her all the time

edit
for those calling BS.. PLEASE! Almost any car these days can hit 120mph. Hell, I saw a Kia station wagon going 112mph and he was still slooooooowly accelerating! KIA!!!!! Obviously a Kia won't be stable at that speed compared to other cars, but you get the idea.

I was in Germany this summer, the place that I grew up in, and I went 222 mph approximately in a Mercedes Benz C-class AMG.

You people are either crazy (and damn good) or lyers. Most 4-banger cars won't even accelerate past 120mph. My old 97 Camry would barely accelerate once it reached 90. It'd probably take me 10 minutes to get it from 100 to 140mph. That's provided I had enough highway space to do something like that.

The fastest I've ever gone was 100mph and at that speed the car is already pretty damn unstable. And I drive a sports car with sports suspension and tires.

Yeah, that's because most of them ARE lying... here's an example:

Fastest I've gone was in this guy's Corvette with the top down riding shotgun, speedometer hit 153 (digital readout) over a 1 mile stretch on a 45mph road through 4 traffic lights. Scared the living sht out of me, never been sucked back into a seat so fast/hard, we probably were doing around 140-145. Next time I ask for a ride home from this guy he felt the need to floor it in the rain in his Grand National... we were fishtailing like crazy and that was the last time I ever asked him for a ride home. He was a completely insane meathead, probably the craziest I've ever met.

Sorry... but that defies the laws of physics. If you were travelling at 153 mph for a mile, you are telling me that at that point you were not accelerating. You would NOT be "sucked back into a seat" so you say... Tell me... when people are cruising along in jets flying hundreds of miles an hour, how could they possibly stand up to walk down the aisle toward the bathroom?
It may have been more than a mile, I don't remember... all I know is that I looked at the digital speedometer and it went up to 153! If you don't believe me that's fine, but it was scary as sht at the time...

Took the Prelude out on the highway to get a feel for how it handled at extreme speeds, or what I call extreme speeds and you guys call me pansies anyways

The car is about 3100lbs. It's slow on pickup, but once it gets going, it really gets going when you revv the sucker. Driving to Grand Fork from Winnipeg took it easy and did mostly 140-160km/h. Coming back was mostly doing 160-180km/h. Fastest drive home ever, heh. The car felt very solid and reassuring even at those speeds. Zooming by trucks you'd get wind resistance, but even then it felt very solid like a brick. The only thing that kept me from going faster is the tire speed rating and the possibility of running into a cop. The engine was doing about 5500rpm@170km/h in 5th gear.

Now lets not talk about gas mileage at those speeds

I drive 85-95 tops on my way to scrape stupid idiots up off the road, and I've got "blinky-blinky's" (red/clear strobes) and a siren.

Seen too many gruesome sights to want to go >100 just for fun.

What should I say? At that speed, even little action on the driving wheel makes the car jerk... I won't do it again in the foreseeable future...

A little over 160mph in a modified BMW m3. It was the ultimate driving machine.

118 in my 300M, Then the electronic speed governer kicked it. Since I have bought this car 2 years ago, my Driving has generally mellowed out a bit ... I still like to cruise at a decent speed, but not as fast as before (too many speeding tickets and too expensive insurance ..... )

in my last car I used to go back between Dekalb and Wheeling IL once to twice per week (when I was in college .. I worked by my mom's house still) .... It was a Grand am with a little 31.L v6 ... A few times I was able to make the 80 mile drive in under 50 minutes. The car maxed out at 108 due to the electronic speed governer.

118ish in my '92 Prelude...

That was definitely interesting, but we were coming up on slight corner, and...well...yeah, that was the end of that
