Elvisman, the Hellraiser is a Real Ale (try searching for CAMRA and they might list info on Hampshire (CAMRA = CAMpaign for Real Ale..)
Kyrano, other than your HDD being bigger than mine im surprised your scores are that much lower, my stock config gave back 9500, i didnt have my mcaffee security running tho dunno what UD agent is, and my processes list was around 45 processes running.....when i unmasked the pipes/vs i got 10,700.....
as for the OC'ing, i'll run thru something u mighta have missed before when reading thru all my waffling...lol...
EDIT:: just to make something clear, the guy who makes rivatuner does say in the stupidly long read me supplied with it that he has restricted the option to overclock to stop first timers trying to get 600core speeds and 1400memory speeds and blowing their nice shiny new graphics card.....lol, the text below will tell you how to undo the restriction and let you overclock.....good luck
open rivatuner
click on the power user tab
read, then ok the warning that comes up asking if you are experienced enuff to use it
then look at the list displayed, find the one that says RivaTuner 2.0RC 15.2\NVidia\Overclocking
make sure its the one with Nvidia, there is another listing without Nvidia, just saying Overclocking
then click on the plus sign to open a menu under this.....
you should see probably 2nd item down is DisableInternalClockTest
that is written on a light grey background, look to the left, u can just make out a greyed out tickmark,
click that so its a solid colour
then look to the right of the DisableInteralClockTest writing and see the dark grey panel, type a 1 in there
then apply and ok whatever it says..
then you should reboot your computer
when thats done open rivatuner again
where it says on the Main tab Driver Settings, you should have Forceware Detected in the box.
next to where it says customize is a little box with an arrow, click that to open some options
chooser system settings
first tab should say Overclocking
check the Enable driver-level Hardware overclocking box, this then allows you to change things.
first in the pull down box on the top right, change it to standard 2D
then move the slider on Core Clock up to say 375 (thats perfectly safe)
then move the slider on Memory Clock up to 1000 (again, i find that perfectly safe)
THEN press the test button, now it should show a multicoloured progress bar moving along, let that finish
THEN press the Apply button in the bottom right
THEN pres the Save button where it says Startup Settings, it should change to what you just set.
(if any warning dialogues come up, just click Ok or Yes)
Now go back to that box in the top right where it says Standard 2D and change that to Performance 3D
repeat the steps i just told you,
up the core to 375,
up the memory to 1000
click test
click apply
click save for startup settings
then click back to Standard 2D and see if it still says 375/1000, then back to performance 3D and check that still says the same 375/1000
then reboot your puter
once rebooted, open rivatuner, then under Target Adaptor, on the line that says 256bit NV40 (A1 16x1,6vp) with 256Mb DDR, click on the arrow next to customize, choose Hardware monitoring.
this opens the temp monitoring device, stretch it the width of your screen (not fill your screen, no need for that)
then click the red button on the bottom left that enables background monitoring, then click the little floppy disk to enable file log
then u can close this window, but leave rivatuner running..
then launch 3dmark03
(i should mention, when you are fiddling with the temp monitor window, just check it says 374.4 or 375 under core clock and 1002.4 under memory to make sure it has worked)
as soon as 3dmark03 is finished, check your scores (should be well over 10,000 going on what u guys are showing on stock)
but also open up the Hardware monitoring temp panel under rivatuner and check the barchart for your peak levels on core temp.....so long as your aint going over 100c (obviously 102 or 103 is acceptable) then things is good
your ambient shouldnt really go above 85 to be within perfectly safe operating limits....
then if all this works, feel free to try OC'ing to 400/1000, should return around 11,500 for you guys (was giving me around 12,300) then try 400/1100 (that gave me 12,950) then 415/1100 (this is where it might freeze on 3dmark03, dont panic, if the screen stops moving then just hit your power button to reboot and adjust your clocks down, that means you hit your limit........
hope this helps ya more kyrano
oh 2 more days to payday and sheer beer oblivion
