I just bought Smoke From a Distant Fire from The Sandford-Townsend Band (Or Sanford and Townsend, depending on who you believe). Before that it was Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits.

It's okay. The first 2 songs sound a lot like some of their older songs, and overall the album is good. Nothing really outstanding.

I've got the Herbert Van Karanjen CD version. I like it. I'm tempted to grab one of those Bach super sets, but something about buying classical music in bulk just seems wrong.

Same here, I went with the special edition release. A#1 Roller Rager is my favorite from this release.

Oh yeah, special edition fo sho. Got my cd sleeve signed by the silver ink Deron used, haha.

I can't believe the band isn't more popular. Shitty marketing by Island Records when they were on there maybe? Who knows. No flashy bullshit rock stars or songs or pretentiousness, just straight up good. Deron Miller writes the most interesting, complex, and catchy guitar riffs I think I have ever heard. Some are just hypnotic.
