What's the last "really" good book you've read? (any genre)

I'm heading out to the library later today and I need some good book suggestions. Just wondering what you guys have read recently.

Some books on my to read list:

Stephen King - Under The Dome (This sounds like it could be a really good novel, seems kinda similar to the stand)
Aravind Adiga - The White Tiger (This won a few awards, its about a driver who murders his employer)
Margaret Atwood - Oryx and Crake (A post apocalyptic novel, seems like it could be a intriguing read)

The Road - Cormac McCarthy. It's an 'easy read,' I got through most of it on a plane flight.

I'm behind on my reading though, so limited sample volume here.

I'm not much into Harry Pot, but Peter Hamilton is a good writer. I'll have to check out the Dreaming Void.

Been pretty happy with the entire Dresden Files series, if you like that type of story, they're a pretty easy read.

Starship Troopers.

Since then they've all been relatively meh.

But I do like Peter F Hamilton and his Reality Dysfunction series.

Great book about a local football team by a writer from the NY Times. It isn't so much about football, just about small town life.

That book sucked bad. What a disappointing end to the harry potter series.

For a fast-paced, light read, try "Bangkok 8" by John Burdett. Humor, sex, drugs, violence, food, more sex, prostitutes, more drugs, and . . . Buddhism.

Im more an audiobook guy the last few years.
Jim Dale is fantastic reading the Harry Potter books. Unabridged. He gets better and better through the series.

Lasy book I read was one of the Drizzt books. Pretty good.

Bleak House by Dickens. Not a great fan of the plot, but his powers as a novelist are simply amazing.
