Only stopping for food, gas and bathroom. I went 1400 miles from Texas to Virginia, and wont do that again. I wonder how far truck drivers drive straight.

I drove from NH to FL alone, but I took three nice & easy days to do it.

IIRC, truck drivers are limited to 14 hours driving time. I could be wrong.

Did you drive 30mph? why did it take you that long? I drove from California to Virginia in less than 3 days.

In a semi, Nashville to Baltimore. About 700 miles. This was a hard trip. Fully loaded and lots of hills in VA to deal with. I was exhausted when I arrived. To boot, the east coast was just coming out from under a big storm, so the truck stop was not plowed well and the easiest parking spot I found still took me 10 minutes to get backed into. With help.

Another time in my truck, Columbus OH to Lincoln, NE. About 800 miles. This was with a super light load and almost all flat lands. Easy trip.

Both were way illegal, but I was alert and well rested. Other days I found it difficult to go 150 miles without a nap.

Most days averaged in 500-625 mile range. That's 9-12 hours of total driving.

In a car, Nashville, TN to Colby, KS. About 900 miles.

Next day from Colby to Roy, UT. 725 more.

Next day to Eugene, OR. Another 725.

Central Illinois to Southern Virginia, about 800 miles... with the wife, but I drove the whole way, since she won't drive more than 5 over...

NH to PA..stayed overnight with family. PA to SC (~10hr drive) - spent the night in a hotel. Then had ~6hr drive to home.

I was driving my MR2 on that run -- definitely not 30mph.

That sounds like an awesome time (if you like your brother). I've never been up to Alaska but everything I've seen Alaska and N.W. Canada looks awesome.

Probably about nine hours in a day, but broken up into three sections (something like 3-6am, 11am-2pm, and 9pm-midnight...stopping in different cities). Since I'd started so early, I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before either....this was also without any caffeine to speak of. Probably won't do that again any time soon (without massive caffeine intake).

I know - hence my comment that it took so long.

I guess that'd be from PA to SC -- ~10hrs.
