Hi,
Just wondering what the market is like out there for portable disk based storage, i.e. 2.5" external drives, in terms of interfaces(USB2.0, FW400/800, eSATA). I'm guessing it's USB2.0 is still the most prevalent by far, followed by maybe a growing usage of eSATA, and FW400/800 for MacHeads. Is there any signifant FW400/800 user base on Windows?
Also, what's the deal with eSATA hot-pluggability? I've tried it on an old i915 based P4 system on native SATA mode in the BIOS(not sure if it's AHCI) but no-go. Had to reboot whenever I connected the drive in order for it to be detected.
