What's the most cash you ever had on you?

I mean, what's the most amount of money you've ever had in cash. What were you doing with it and how long did you have it?

I had about $10k not long ago on me. I was just taking it from one checking account to another I had at two different banks. It wasn't that big of a deal for me but the teller girls at both banks though it was very strange. The one at the depositing bank thought it was hilarious and was asking all sorts of questions about how I got the money. I didn't mind her asking, but I thought she should be careful because some people get ornery about questions like that.

About 10 years ago when I delivered pizza for a living I had about $1500 in mostly 1s and 5s that I deposited. It was a stack of dirty money at least 5-6 inches tall when squished with rubber banks.

Yeah I'd be all for a flat tax.

Take 50% of my earnings before I get paid, and THATS IT. No more taxes after that. Have a certain agency responsible for that then distributing that money to the various tiers of government such as federal, provincial and municipal. Get rid of all the other taxes and stop double taxing people. And get rid of the whole income tax return thing... take the right amount right off the bat and get it over with. Get rid of all the complication and bureaucracy.

That makes too much sense though so it's never going to happen.

Anyway, I've only held about $500 in my own cash. Funny enough I just held $475 recently to pay for rent and some other stuff.

I don't know if I've ever had more than $1,000 of my own money in cash. Just never makes sense to have that laying around. Definitely plenty of times when I accumulated $300-400 in cash but didn't deposit it. (I used to do rideshares and got cash from that)

For me personally? Probably a few hundred. I've done everything on a CC since I was 18, so no real need for cash. I think I have $4 in my wallet.
