I ate a fish head once.. it was burnt pretty good so I mostly tasted charcoal but it was extremely difficult to chew and get down. Never again

Tried boiled peanuts a couple years ago in SC. Put one in my mouth, chewed once, and promptly launched the remains onto the ground. As disgusting a thing as I've ever tasted. I can't even imagine how a peanut could be made to taste so foul.

Chinese fish. As in the stuff that people from China were eating for dinner. I worked at a chinese food restaurant (deriv-ely). And the workers, including the owner, would never, ever consider eating a dish from his own restaurant. They would bake a putrid disgusting fish that smelled not like fish, but garbage. They stuffed this fish with various herbs and had rice with what can only be described as fish awful (lol @ my unintended pun) mixed in.

When I was a kid, my mom cooked us up liver and onions a couple of times. I ate it (more like choked it down with a lot of milk) because we had rules where we couldn't leave the table unless our plate was nearly/all finished and my parents weren't going to cook up something else just because we didn't like it. The smell of that shit was horrible. She stopped making it after my little sister barfed it out on the table.

More recently, I've had some nastier stuff with my wife's asian side of the family, but I never ask what it is because I don't want to know.

Ah, down in the south we get "redneck" boiled peanuts, which is boiled in brine, soggy in the shell. Also cajun. Delicious either way.
