What's the most powerful, moving, intense movie scene ever filmed?

Too many to list but I'll throw out a couple not mentioned yet:

The chestburster scene in "Alien".

1982 version of "the Thing"...a guys head detaches from his body and sprouts legs and antenna.

The female prisoners being herded into the showers in "Schindlers List"...about made me lose faith in humanity.

The plot twist in "The Sixth Sense".

Anybody watch Fallen Angelsby Wong kar wai? Remember the last scene with Michelle Reiss (AKA the Agent) riding on the motorbike passing under the tunnel and the puff of smoke rising slowly and vanishing into the night sky? That scene was a masterpiece....

The bedroom scene (no, not "that" type of scene) in the 1939 version Of Wuthering Heights, with Heathcliff (Laurence Olivier) cradling the dying Catherine.

I am a man, dammit, into sci-fi and action, but this happens to be one of my all-time favorite movies.

Much of the movie.....going down the river.....Meryl Streep did much of her own stunts and was told later.....
"You did such a great job acting....you really looked terrified!"

Brandon Lee was killed in the scene in the Crow where he goes into the room where everyone pulls a gun and shoots him. One of the guns was loaded with real bullets....I believe the 2nd Crow could have been a hit movie if Brandon was still around

The scene in True Romance where Dennis Hopper realizes that Christopher Walken and his henchman will kill him anyway. He calmly asks for a last cigarette and while he smokes it, he tells the Sicilians that they have dark skin because they are part eggplant (black). This gets him shot immediately and he avoids torture.

in Star Trek: First Contact, when the vulcans finally land on planet earth, the door to their spaceship opens and dr. zefram cochrane meets with them... (i get goosebumps whenever i watch that scene with the background music!)

in Braveheart, at the very end, when robert the bruce yells out something like, 'you fought with wallace, now fight with me!' and then hamish hurls wallace's sword in the air...

in Mars Attacks!, when the martians wipe-out congress!

MrAnderson-are you sure that's the scene? I've always been told that was the scene exactly, but it seems that according to who you ask you'll get a different answer. I agree with you that the second, and the third (I believe there is a little known fourth one coming out or has come out already) would have been much better had he survived.

That scene puts a lump in my throat every time I see that scene....GREAT movie, great actor, great loss
