Have not seen it in a while but the last scene in Kids bothered me for a long time. Not much else has come that close yet, although the SPR scenes mentioned above are notable.

Forrest Gump:
The scene when he's a kid with the leg braces; camera goes to slow-mo while he's running from the bullies and the leg braces basically EXPLODE off his legs and he takes off like a bullet out of hell! GAWD I LOVE that scene!!!

Requiem For A Dream:
The end sequence. To call it 'disturbing' is an understatement.

The Thing (1982, Kurt Russell version):
The scene where they're testing the people to find out who's the Alien. When they do, and the creature starts changing back to original form...The guy with the flamethrower just stands there (I was about 15 when I saw that movie and I was SCREAMING "Shoot! Shooooot!&quot

As Good As it Gets:
Girl: "How do you write women so well"
Jack: "I take a man and I remove reason and accountability"

The 'Sell crazy someplace else' scene

The Deer Hunter scene where Deniro is asking for more bullets for the pistol and telling his North Vietnamese captor " oh your gonna die ".

The slow knife in the heart death struggle in "Saving Private Ryan "
I never want to see that again..

For me it would have been E.T. touching the finger of the boy (I was a young boy then so it really moved me)

End of "The Joy Luck Club" when the sisters meet.
Last scene of "Shawshank Redemption"
Shower scene from "American History X"
The silent scene from "Erin Brockovich" when the guy is throwing rocks at the power plant.
The first 20 minutes of "Saving Private Ryan"

I would like to say that the final scene of "The Sixth Sense" was pretty powerful, but someone here spoiled it for me and I will never forgive that person (who shall remain nameless).

So many more, can't remember right now.

Probably a dozen different scenes in both Shawshank and Saving Private Ryan. To pick one from each though

Saving Private Ryan.
"Earn this" scene starting when the P-51's (tank busters) come in

Shawshank Redemption
The scene showing how Tim Robbins gets outta Shawshank.

American Beauty
When the girl's boyfriend looks down at Kevin Spacey and sees the smile on his face. (right at the end for those who know what I'm talking about)

The scene in The Devil's Advocate where the girl finally snaps and puts a piece of glass in her throat. Disturbing .... but very good.

I'd have to agree with GrimReefer that What Dreams may come is pretty good...since I was able to watch a good part of it being made in Glacier National Park in 97 or 98.

7's final scene is pretty intense.

The Crow--when you realize that it was Brandon Lee's last film since he was actually killed in one of the scenes.

Usual suspects was a good scene...so was the brain one in Hanniabl. If I had to pick I'd probabaly say Saving private ryan when at the beginning they are in the landing craft and nobody is having any fun whatsoever. Then it opens up and their lives are deemed worthless by machine gun fire. Pretty nasty.

Just about the entire movie Gettysburg.... really good historical film. Then in Legends of the Fall when the youngest son dies. But above all, I'm going to have to say most of the movie, but especially the last scene of The Last of the Mohicans. Just gotta say wow when you see it.

At the end of "The Princess Bride" when Fred Savage asks Peter Falk if he could come and read the book to him tomorrow and Peter simply says "as you wish". Classic.

Here's a couple not mentioned:

Disturbing: The beginning of RoboCop (yes, I said RoboCop) where they slowly shoot him to death. One limb at a time. It doesn't get much more disturbing than that.

...that is, unless we want to dredge up the classic "Clockwork Orange". That, my friends, is disturbing on so many levels.

Heart-wrenching: Somewhere In Time, when he finds the penny. *gulp*

Also, the classic "Where the Red Fern Grows". Saw that at the budget theater when I was a kid and there was not a dry eye in the place as we left. Of course going from theater dark to a bright sunny summer day with white pavement didn't help, but there were sad tears there too.

Thought provoking would be All Quiet on the Western Front. That whole movie gets to me. But espically the last seen when he is killed by a sniper the same day as the order for a cease fire comes though.
Another one that was good is the alternative ending to the movie Stigmata

Good ones so far. A couple of mine:

Most disturbing -
Silence of the Lambs: Hannibal's escape and what was left.
Braveheart - the slit throat of Wallace's woman. God, how can you destroy something so beautiful.
Tom Cruise and his urine in Born on the 4th of July

Most moving -
The end of The Razor's Edge (with Bill Murray)
The feather scene in Forest Gump
Morgan Freeman in Lean on Me, telling the white drug dealer he'll be dead in 6 months.
Richard Gere (sp?) carrying out his fiance' in the last scene of Officer and a Gentleman.

(okay, okay, I got choked up when Mufasa died in the Lion King...but that doesn't make me gay or anything. )

8MM is defintely one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. I don't remember the details because it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I vaguely remember a few intense scenes where Nicholas Cage just about looses it when he has to deal with "Machine".
