What's the most you've ever written a check for?

Probably not much, but I just wrote a check for my last semester of college-- $7,314.00. This is the first time I paid it in full from my checking account, so it'd probably be the most I've written one for.

Anyone ever break $100,000?

Depends on if you count the house payment. The cheque the bank writes to the seller on your behalf. If so, that is 207K. If not, 70K

I've done $3500 for a car. Nothing too crazy. I've never bought a new car and I don't own my house.

Why not both? Though if we're talking business, I've ordered $107k worth of equipment before.

This would be a better thread if you asked what's the SMALLEST amount you have written a check for. It's funny when you see grandma's write checks for $5 at the supermarket.

Does buying a Cashiers' check for $121,500 count (closing on house). If not then $48,XXX for a car.

Personal check - ~$25k for wife's car ($19k came from insurance)
Cashier's check - $52k for remainder of down payment for house

Edit: Scratch that, largest personal check was $35k for second deposit on house

Check? THat's ancient technology. I think I wrote one for $4000 back in the dark ages when I bought a pc.

Talking business, I've done a $82,000 wire transfer for my dad's business, if that counts.
