I don't think I know any rich people at all, or if I do I have no idea they're rich :/ I think I'm actually the richest person I know, and I don't really know how to fully properly estimate my net worth (which would kind of put me in a much worse place to estimate anyone else's)
Pretty simple, all your assets (house worth, money in bank, money elsewhere, other valued things you own - car, ring, etc) and just subtract all your debts from that (mortgage, credit card debt, student loans, etc).

The wealthiest person I know is my boss, and his net worth is close to $10 billions.
I know the guy who started the beverage company Sobe with his brother. While I did ask how much $$$ Pepsi paid them for it. He never gave me an answer. I would assume it was a triple digit millions.
Until they need it.
It's pretty tacky to ask someone how much money they make.
You don't have to ask if they are in Forbes. You can look it up. Now whether Forbes have the correct info is another matter.
