Here its sunny a lot in summer buts its cold outside sometimes... misleading sunny i call that. In winter its freezing but many days are sunny again... theres a total lack of snow, and it rains occasionally.

Whats canada like in comparison?

Hot/Cold, Sunny/Cloudy, Dry/Rainy. We got it all!!

Depends where you are. Some places can be Sunny and -40c in the Winter, while others are Cloudy/Rainy and 15c in winter.

Vancouver.

zOMG, I'm so moving there now. I hate winter, but I HATE summer even more. It's been a fairly constant 50 degrees here in Ohio, and I'm LOVING it.. but 90*F summers in Ohio are the end of me.

It can get that hot or more here in Vancouver as well.

*can* being the operative word.

I just looked at my month-long forecast, and it was almost 90 for about a week from Oct 2-9th. That's just not right for October.

In Sept, almost every day was in the 80's and 90's, and I'm just not cool with that.

I'd take your Vancouver weather any day. I just looked up the month forecast and you're looking at 40's and 50's for the rest of the month.

I on the other hand, have to face mid-60's (not complaining) to 80's () for the rest of October.

Wish I could relocate.

Depends on where you are in Canada. Most of Canada is very cold therefore most Canadian cities huddle along the 49 parallel border with the US. Eastern Canada can get very hot in the summer & cold in the winter. Western Canada climate is more moderate with Southern Vancouver Island & Vancouver city climate is very similar to London England & surrounding area.

What the hell? Much of Eastern Canada is composed of the Atlantic provinces and due to the fact that they are right next to the ocean, winter and summer are both moderate. Parts of Quebec border Hudson Bay and the Ocean, and the great lakes and Hudson Bay border Ontario. I think that what you said is generally inaccurate.

I would say the Mid-West has the coldest winters and the hottest summers as that features the prairie provinces.

Edited: Added more info.

Wet coast is my favorite part, weather wise... doesn't usually get too hot or too cold. and mountains pwn.

Prairies are ok in the summer, almost too hot, but too damn windy, and the winter is brutal. Not a lot of snow usually, but it can get very cold. (like -50 w/o windchill on occasion )

Down east is too humid

The maritimes are... well if you're into fish and newfies, its alright. Winter doesn't get too cold, but they usually get dumped on pretty good. maybe get a snowblower.

Up north is some nice country, but it's pretty isolated, and brutal winter again. Summer is nice tho...

The weather is exactly like it is in the UK, in one of the provinces, at least 33% of the time.

edit: it's muggy and hot in SW Ontario and cold as @!&#%^ in teh winter.

Vancouver is very similar to London from what I know.

The summers are gorgeous here. Crisp fall days where the temperature hangs in the 5-10 C range are my favourite. We'll get snow every year and typically we'll get snowed on for 4-5 days, 3 of those days being "melts when it hits the ground" days, with the other 2 being "sticks to the ground for 2 days, then melts" days. Late November to early February is wet. The rain is pretty relentless. 2 years ago we had something like 55 days of rain in a row (one day short of the record here), then one day of no rain, then another 25 or so. Oh, and that one day of no rain was no rain at the airport where the official weather is recorded; it rained everywhere else in the city.

That's pretty extreme though; most of the time it'll rain for 4-5 days then be nice and sunny for 2 during the winter. Oh, and this is right by the coast.

If you go to the interior of BC the weather is arguably better. The okanagan region has really warm and dry summers (40 C highs with typically 33-35 C months) and cool (-15 C) snowy winters. Cross the rocky mountains going east and you're into the prairies. It's pretty hot in the summers although not quite as hot as the okanagan. The winters are bitterly cold though. -40 is typical. Add windchill and it can get well into the -50s. Southern Ontario is humid. The summers are pretty hot and very humid - chokingly so. The winters are snowy.

I don't know much about the maritimes (far east of Canada), but it seems like they are similar to the west coast if you drop the temperatures a bit so they get plenty of snow, and instead of steady rain they tend to bunch it up into larger downpours.

The north is just cold. Plus there's polar bears.
