Sorry to say, my friends and I have pretty much agreed that Atlanta is fairly boring. It's just too spread out, lacks good public transportation, and has little soul. There's no real city center in my mind around which all the fun gravitates. You got to drive between Midtown and Buckhead (several miles) to catch any action. Like I said, Gordon Biersch is a great place for beer (but expensive). From there, go clubbing at eleven50, Halo, Vision, etc. There's also some historical stuff to see if you're making your first visit: MLK museum, M. Mitchell house, Coke Museum, Underground Atlanta, Stone Mountain, etc.

Isn't that where the weather channel's headquarters is located? I'd go on a tour if they had one.
Notice how the women are always thin in bad suits, then get pregnant? For a while I thought they should rename it to the Pregnancy Channel

Mmmmmmmmm........
I don't swing that way. Girls are nice, except for the whining about "did you hear what she said about what he did to that blah blah blah... blah." Plus, they are bad drivers.
Is there a farmer's market, or field where I can pick peaches or strawberries or something? That would be nice!

Honestly, I don't see the allure of the Varsity. Atlanta has a zillion extremely good restaurants, so why subject yourself to the gastrointestinal distress that the V will surely induce?Originally posted by: royaldank
Another vote for the Varsity. Been eating it as long as I can remember. Every time I'm in ATL, usually 6-9 times a year, I hit up the Varsity once or twice.
Make sure you get some chili dogs. Going there and not eating a chili dog would be blasphemy. I don't understand why the rest of the menu exists outside of the chili dogs, fries/OR, cokes, and the Orange drink.
