what's to eat - Lebanon TN

Heading to the Nashville area this weekend (Lebanon) - any restaurant recommendations? I'm getting tired of steaks, thinking maybe seafood, Italian, or some excellent local cuisine.

Find a plate lunch diner. If you can't then find a Cracker Barrel. If you are going to the south you might as well eat southern. If you like fish, try a catfish place. Tennessee is too far from the ocean for seafood.

Just came back yesterday from a 2 day stay in Nashville. We went to this place:

$16/person for dinner. They also serve breakfast on weekends and lunch all other days. Pretty good southern style cooking. We had skillet fried chicken, cornbread, biscuits with gravy, mac and cheese, meatloaf, potato cheese casserole, green beans, banana pudding, pulled pork, cranberry something, peach something, fried catfish, sweet tea, and a few other items I forgot. It's all you can eat too. Most we waited was 30 minutes on a Saturday evening. Just a heads up though, you will be seated in a table with random strangers unless you have a really big group. Can be a hit or miss depending on you or your party's preference.

We missed it because it was about an hour wait or more. Definitely get there early. Heard lots of good things about this place.

Camel is pretty good. There is a restaurant near me that serves it and I always order it when I go there.

LOL, I had a student who asked me if I was going to the beach when I went to Tennessee (meaning the ocean.) You're right though. Didn't think of catfish, I loves me a nice fried catfish dinner. Yummm! I wonder if anyone down there can cook as good as Ola Mae (Restaurant up here that served Southern cooking; and she was an outstanding cook. I've never come close to her cooking. And her peach cobbler was to die for.)

Isn't Lebanon where most of the TV-advertised junk products and other offers are based? The short commercials with the green bar, super loud and obnoxious voice, and generally offering three or 4 replicates of the product for free, and at a "$50 value!!!"

Nashville is a pretty cool place. They're Pantheon is better than the one in Athens! :hmm:
