I drove by the new KK in Maple Grove Minnesota tonight. Unreal...................there were about 8 squad cars there directing traffic. The drive thru line was about 6 blocks long, cars parked on the side of the road for a quarter mile in each direction! This place has been open for a week now! Sure would like to be depositing the funds from that place!

KK rocks...hands down...better than Dunkin...or any other shop...period...IMO.

I've been to the Maple Grove Minnesota KK. In fact, I was there today. Prob's w/the traffic are 3 fold.

1. Maple Grove commerce is busting at the seems, was orginally zoned and structured as a small town environment until corporations started moving north - bringing housing/jobs/etc. so now ya got all this Retail and consumer interest like a flash in the pan and somebody forgot to invite a city planning engineer to the parking lot design party. (Those of you who've driven the roads and lots in MG know what I'm talking about).

2. KK is right smack dab in the middle of the can of worms. Good location, Good Press, good reviews in other states, good marketing, good stock, good doughnuts. Heck, w/everything else rating "good" they could likely make a run of the mill doughnut and come out smelling like roses.

3. It's simple. It's good. So many other things in life involve choices! This is simple, this is good.

Good doughnuts. Not necessarily worth the wait - but definitely worth buying IMO. (note - if you haven't had a kk hot from the line, go back and try it).

But then, I'm an equal opportunity doughnut eater... Guess I'll have to down a few more to cast my vote for a Champ

I obviously have too much time on my hands (getting passionate about a doughnut thread).

my dad said that on friday or saturday they sold 1200 donuts in the maple grove store :Q
he drove by on saturday when the sleet and snow, and the line was out the door still...

had one from some grocery store in West Virginia late in the evening.

it was okay, although not worth driving more than about 2-3 minutes for.

maybe the fresh ones are better...

I wouldn't camp out for donuts no matter how good they are, but KK is better than most. Fresh off the line are the best - far better than store bought. The KK that opened here about a year ago is always busy.
FWIW, my favorites come from Bill's donut shop in Centerville, OH where I grew up.

yes it is just a doughnut personally i dont like them they tast like crap there highly overrated i prefere Dunkin doughnuts and the ones Giant - the groshery store makes

A couple of days ago I was working at the Best Buy in Maple Grove, and couldn't believe how long the line of cars was when I drove by the KK. The cars are snaking around the nearby roads. Somebody told me an estimate of a 4 hour wait to get a donut. That's insane. They're good donuts, but not that good.

I had 4 glazed donuts fresh Sunday, and then I just ate 4 more this afternoon.

Does that mean I like them too much?
